Thanks to ¥åßßå for bringing QP to my attention. As I said, color me intrigued.

Where to start?

First, and maybe most importantly for some, I do have boobies and am not afraid to use them (if they can help me get what I want, watch out).

Second, as far as user category, I think I have a mix of Some html experience, Been around the block, and Current b2evo users. I know basic HTML and CSS and I can follow simple to somewhat technical instructions on how to manipulate files...although all the really techy stuff will go way over my head. Don't ask me anything about PHP or databases. I used to have more time to fiddle, but with a now 18 month old, my time for website stuff is MUCH more limited. I am a bit of a geek and do enjoy being ahead of the curve on technological things (although I think if I had it to do over, I'd wait a few more months before getting the iphone 4). But that said, I really don't know much about much.

Third, just as an FYI--I am not super disillusioned with b2 since I really don't do much with it. Meaning I have a multi-blog setup, I write posts and upload photos, do some minor editing of template files, and that's about it. I did the upgrades until 2.4.7, where I stopped. I did briefly consider moving to WordPress, but 1) there is no easy importer and 2) I could have started there originally years ago, but ended up with b2evo--so why switch back now? But since I have considered other options, QP tweaks my curiosity.

Fourth, I'm not sure how much I can really help here, but I can give you the basic user's ideas and wants.

I have read quite a few of the posts in the forum, but a lot of it went over my head. Now I just need to find the place to post where I can be of the most help. Please feel free to direct me somewhere where you think I could be of the most help.

Most forums have a policy "no photo's, no proof, no claim" ... pretty damn sure EdB will back me up

The main thing the core (evo, and even qp until recently) has lacked is "basic user input ... that actually has a voice" ... hell, until qp even geek input was ignored

Leap in on the boards wherever you feel comfortable, all input ( that's geek for "opinions" ... just so the geeks understand ) appreciated

Everyone has boobies. I'm figuring yours, unlike mine, are the kind that powers the internet?

In my sig file there is a link to Tblue's daily snapshot thing. There you will find the most recent "trunk" in zip form. IF you want to start using QP you can as we've sealed up our database structure. The files will continue to undergo massive changes, so keeping your files up to date will not be the easiest thing in the world. But it can be done. Get an account with launchpad and sign up for notifications of trunk changes. That way you'll get an email when trunk changes, so you'll know to get a new copy. From there it's kinda very geeky to keep track of changes so you know what to upload to (and delete from) your server. Or just make a playground place on your server so if stuff gets all jacked up it won't be the end of the world.

Anyway all that is a long-winded way to say if you use it you can tell us what you think, what sucks, what works, what it should do that it isn't - stuff like that.

We're still deep in the "build it" phase but it is a usable product with a frozen database. That means you, and anyone else, can use it. Oh and one of our rules in trunk is that it must always work. We've made mistakes but (a) they are very rare and (b) they don't show up immediately and (c) they get fixed immediately.

I'll have to search for an R-rated one. I can only seem to locate G- and X-rated ones at the moment.

Pretty damn sure EdB has to many grey hairs to be rated as R .... or anything below "DOM" [not in a js sense ]

Unfortunately, I just discovered that ALL of my photos (of that nature) are gone forever. They were on a backup drive that went bad. Sigh.

Hey how about 3 or 4 maybe 5 kid pics for the sample posts photo gallery stuff? At least 800 wide so they resize down, ideally with a title and alt-text and caption so's I don't have to make up all that stuff myself. Wanna make the samples show what can be done ya know? So even a pair of toddler-shots with all the doodads that you could upload with would work for a "this post has 2 images attached that were uploaded with fancy stuff turned on and immediately turned into a single post" sample.

I've just had a ballache of a day, 14 hours straight with no breaks whilst we got the covers on the dahlia greenhouse. Your post just brightened it up

Upload the pics wherever you want, here or there, as long as we have links to where we can get them it's cool. If you can also provide titles and captions then that's a bonus.
